Turn a TikTok sound into an MP3 you can keep
Paste the link of any public TikTok video and save its audio as an MP3. Use it for offline listening, a ringtone or an edit of your own clip.
Music on TikTok is often copyrighted. Keep MP3s for personal use unless you have permission.
TikTok lets you favorite a sound but not download it
That gap is the reason this page exists.
Inside the app, a sound page gives you two options: add the track to Favorites or use it in a video of your own. There’s no button that saves the audio as a file, so you can’t play it in another app, trim it, or keep it if the video gets deleted.
The MP3 downloader pulls the audio track out of a public video and hands it to you as a standard MP3, the format nearly every phone, music player and editor opens.
Three steps from TikTok sound to MP3 file
You start from a video, not from the sound page.
- Find a video that uses the soundAny public video works. If you’re on a sound page, tap one of the videos listed under it.
- Copy the video linkTap the Share arrow, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
- Paste it above and press Get MP3The audio file goes to your Downloads folder in a few seconds.
Original sounds and licensed songs follow different rules
Check the name under the video before you reuse anything.
| Sound type | How to spot it | What you can do with the MP3 |
|---|---|---|
| Your own original sound | “original sound” followed by your username | Anything you like. It’s your recording. |
| Someone else’s original sound | “original sound” followed by their username | Listen privately. Ask the creator before you reuse it. |
| A licensed song | A song title and artist name | Personal listening only. The label owns it, and reposting it can get your content muted or removed. |
What people do with a TikTok MP3
Set it as a ringtone
On iPhone, import the MP3 into GarageBand, trim it to 30 seconds or less, then use Share › Ringtone. On Android, go to Settings › Sound › Phone ringtone and pick the file. Menu names vary by brand.
Edit it into your own video
CapCut, iMovie and Premiere Pro all import MP3. Trim the part you need and keep the full file as a backup, in case the original video disappears.
Listen offline
Play it in VLC or any app that opens files. On iPhone the Music app won’t import it directly, so play it from the Files app instead.
A silent or broken MP3 traces back to TikTok, not your phone
These four cases cover almost every bad file.
- TikTok muted the video. When a music licence ends, TikTok can remove the sound from a video. A muted video gives a silent MP3.
- The video is private or deleted. Only public videos can be converted.
- You pasted a sound page link. Copy the link of a video that uses the sound instead.
- The audio is quiet on TikTok too. An MP3 can’t sound better than the original recording.
Every device saves the MP3 to its Downloads folder
Only where that folder lives changes.
- Android: Files app › Downloads. Most music players find it there on their own.
- iPhone and iPad: Files app › Downloads, in iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
- Windows: This PC › Downloads.
- Mac: Downloads in the Finder sidebar.
- Linux: your ~/Downloads folder.
