Download TikTok videos as MP4 files that play anywhere
Paste a public TikTok link and save the video as an MP4. It opens on your phone, laptop, TV or editing app with nothing extra to install.

MP4 is the format every phone, laptop and editor already reads
That’s why the downloader saves videos as MP4 and not anything more exotic.
An MP4 plays in the iPhone Photos app, Android galleries, Windows and Mac players and most smart TVs. Editors like CapCut, iMovie and Premiere Pro import it without converting first.
| You want to | Save as | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Watch offline | MP4 | You keep the full picture and sound |
| Edit your own clip | MP4 | Editing apps open it directly |
| Post your video on Reels or Shorts | MP4 | Both accept MP4 uploads |
| Keep only the sound | MP3 | Smaller file, plays in music apps. Use the MP3 downloader |
| Keep a story | MP4 | Stories expire in 24 hours. Use the story downloader |
When an MP4 won’t save, one of five things is wrong
Work down the list. Most fixes take seconds.
- The video is private or friends-only. Only public videos can be saved.
- The link didn’t copy in full. Go back to TikTok and copy it again from Share, then Copy link.
- The video was deleted or removed. Open the link in a browser. If it won’t play there, it can’t be saved here either.
- The video opens in a new tab instead of downloading. Long-press it on a phone and tap Download video, or right-click on a computer and choose Save video as.
- The video is blocked in your country. Some videos only play in certain regions, and the same limit applies to downloads.
A saved video still belongs to the person who made it
Downloading doesn’t change who owns the clip.
Saving your own uploads is fine, and so is saving a clip a creator told you that you can use. Re-uploading someone else’s video as yours breaks TikTok’s rules and copyright law in most countries.
- Back up your own videos before you delete a draft or close an account.
- Ask first before you reuse a creator’s clip, and tag them when you post it.
- Don’t sell or advertise with saved videos unless the owner agreed in writing.
